The product to be designed is a mask, based on the character Suladan, also known as a Nazgul antagonist from the game Middle Earth Shadow of War (Monolith, 2017). The game is based on the lore from the Lord of the Rings series (WarnerBros, 2001). The mask will be designed using Inventor (2021), processed through Cura (2021), and then a prototype will be printed for display and demonstration prior to the Inventor (2021) files being made available online. The product will be designed for use in Cosplay, where people dress up to portray a character from a chosen TV show, film, book, game, or other fandom (Who, 2021), who wish to dress and portray the character Nazgul; a character seen in the Lord of the Rings films and the game. The target market for the product includes people over the age of 12, who have a liking towards cosplay as well as the Lord of The Ring鈥檚 series (WarnerBros, 2001).

The mask needs to be lightweight so that it can be worn comfortably for a long period of time, as well as reducing the possibility of discomfort. In order for the product to be successful, it needs to be available in three different sizes to appeal to both children and adults, representing different head sizes and face shapes, both in width and length, and must consider typical head shapes such as, round, oval and triangular (Birchbox, c.2021). The design must be formatted for 3D printing, allowing for sale of digital files to clients who wish to print their own; as well as the opportunity for cosplayers to customise the product to suit their measurements. The mask is designed in ten parts, allowing each to be printed in a different size, and can be customised to follow the measurements required to fit an individual. The end user will purchase the file containing the base design, and can update the existing designs in Inventor (2021), prior to publishing files, permits for more details to be added, as well as the option of customisation.
