This project required that I design and engineer an assistive device for a client who has Parkinson鈥檚 Disease.
The purpose of the device was to make a specific task easier for my client. I chose to focus on tremors in the hands. So I decided to make a magnetic button up shirt, this will make it easier for people with Parkinson鈥檚 to put on a shirt, as with shaky hands it can be quite a difficult task to put a button through a hole. So the magnets help as they just click together.
I started by stripping out the buttons, and replacing them by gluing magnets in the same spot, then for the other side, I picked out a socket to glue a magnetic strip to it.
