This project required that I design and engineer an assistive device for a client who has Parkinson鈥檚 Disease.
The purpose of the device was to make a specific task easier for my client. I chose to focus on eating whilst experiencing tremors. People affected by Parkinson鈥檚 disease tend to struggle with eating as they face problems such as poking/stabbing themselves with the cutlery as they have no control over their movement when experiencing a tremor.
My solution was a weighted cutlery set which has finger grips built in which helps them to gain more control over their movements which makes eating easier. I created this by using Tinkercad and 3D printing my design.
